Soal Cerita Perkalian Bahasa Inggris

Berikut ini adalah 25 soal cerita perkalian dalam Bahasa Inggris untuk digunakan sebagai latihan, khususnya bagi siswa yang belajar di sekolah internasional atau ingin meningkatkan kemampuan dirinya sekaligus di bidang matematika dan English. 

Soal latihan ini sangat mudah dan disertai dengan pembahasan tiap nomornya. Silahkan dipergunakan oleh bapak ibu guru matematika dalam mengajarkan matematika dalam Bahasa Inggris khususnya menggunakan soal cerita dengan topik perkalian. 

Setiap soalnya disesuaikan agar sesuai dengan hal-hal yang mungkin terjadi atau ditemui dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, bukan hanya soal teoritis semata. Soal-soal cerita matematika ini juga bisa menjadi referensi dalam menyusun soal AKM numerasi ataupun literasi. 

Tips mengajarkan soal-soal ini : 

• Pastikan siswa sudah memahami konsep perkalian dengan benar. 
• Ajak siswa untuk mencari informasi yang disajikan dalam tiap soal. 
• Pastikan siswa memahami kalimat yang disajikan dalam soal-soal cerita perkalian ini sebelum pada akhirnya melakukan proses penghitungannya. 
• Identifikasikan angka-angka yang ada dalam cerita.
• Identifikasikan masalah yang ditanyakan. 
• Jawab masalah yang ditanyakan dengan formula operasi bilangan yang tepat. 

Soal Cerita Perkalian Bahasa Inggris 

Level A (Soal Tingkat Awal)

Dalam soal level A ini, siswa hanya diberikan kumpulan soal-soal dengan operasi perhitungan sederhana, yakni perkalian saja. 

1. Four boys are playing tennis together. They all brought six balls. How many balls do they have total? 
2. Jack has three dogs. He feeds them 2 bottles of milk every day for each dog. How many bottles of milk does he need for a week?
3. The Thompsons family has five members. Each member has two small towels and a bath towel. How many towels hang in the bathroom? 
4. Thomas and his family order four pizzas for lunch. Each pizza is sliced into four parts. How many pizza slices do they get? 
5. Tony ordered 4 pizzas, sliced into four pieces each. This time the dog ate one piece. How many pieces did  he eat? 
6. There are 15 candies in each box. How many candies are in 9 boxes? 
7. I have two boxes. Each boxes has 5 marbles in it? How many marbles do I have?
8. My sister bought eleven egg cartons, and each had five eggs. Twelve of the eggs were bad. How many good eggs did my sister get?  
9. There are twenty horses, and three ducks. How many feet are there total? 
10.  A cake cost $ 3. How much money have I spent for 15 cakes?

Kunci Jawaban Soal Level A

Berikut adalah kunci jawaban untuk soal perkalian level A. Silahkan klik untuk melihat ataupun membacanya. 

1) Setiap anak membawa 6 bola. Ada 4 anak. Maka 6 x 4 = 24. 2) Setiap anjing mendapatkan 2 botol susu setiap hari. Maka 2 x 3 = 6 botol dibutuhkan untuk satu hari. Untuk satu minggu maka 7 x 6 = 42 botol susu. 3) Berarti 5 x (2 + 1) = 15 handul. 4) Setiap pizza dipotong 4 bagian. Berarti 4 x 4 = 16 bagian. 5) Jadi 4 x 4 = 16 potongan. Satu potong dimakan anjing, maka tersisa 15 potongan. 6) 15 x 9 = 135. 7) 5 x 2 = 10. 8) Ini harus teliti. 11 x 5 maka ada 55 butir telur. 12 rusak. Maka yang masih baik adalah 55 - 12 = 43 butir telur. 9) Horse = 4 feet. Duck = 3 feet. Jadi, (4 x 20) + (3 x 3 ) = 80 + 9 = 89. 10) Maka $ 3 x 15 buah kue hasilnya adalah $ 45.

Soal Perkalian Bahasa Inggris.

Level B (Soal Tingkat Menengah) 

Dalam soal level B ini, siswa mulai diminta mengerjakan soal tipe HOTS dimana mereka harus memahami dengan benar alur cerita dan memilih operasi hitung perkalian yang tepat. 

1. Michael needs to cut a pan of cheese cake into pieces. He cuts 6 even columns and 3 even rows into the pan. How many cakes does he have now? 
2. On a family dinner table there are two plates for everybody, and only one plate for little Esther. 10 people including Esther came to the dinner . How many plates were on the table?
3. There is a big movie theatre in a town. It has 20 rows of seats with 15 seats in each row. How many seats are there in total? 
4. Lucas has ten friends who all have three toy cars and then two friends who only have two cars. How many cars do Lucas friends have? 
5. A clothing company has 4 different kinds of jackets. Each year, the company makes 60,000 of each kind of jackets. How many jackets does the company make each year?
6. Peter has 5 apple trees. Each tree has 25 apples except one that only has 15 apples. How many apples are total in those trees?
7. My father is a bricklayer. He stacks bricks in 4 rows, with 10 bricks in each row. On top of each row, there is a stack of 6 bricks. How many bricks are there in total? 
8. Jack went to the store 15 times last month. Each time he went to the store, he bought 8 bar of chocolate. How many bar of chocolate he had last month? 
9. Billy earns $10 an hour by delivering newspapers. He delivers newspapers 5 days each week, for 4 hours at a time. After delivering newspapers for 8 weeks, how much money will Billy earn?
10. A town has three police offices. In each police office there are six police officers. Then, since last month, there are 4 new officers. How many police officers do the police offices have in total?

Kunci Jawaban Soal Level B

Di bawah ini adalah kunci jawaban untuk soal perkalian level B. Tekan saja tombol buka untuk mengeceknya atau melihatnya. 

1) 6 x 3 = 18. 2) 9 x 2 = 18 + 1 (Esther yang hanya dapat satu buah piring) = 19. 3) 20 x 15 = 300 kursi. 4) 30 + 4 = 34. 5) 60.000 x 4 = 240.000. 6) 4 x 25 + 15 = 115. 7) 4 x 10 + 6 = 46. 8) 15 x 8 = 120. 9) A day he works 4 hours, so 10 x 4 = 40 dollars. Untuk satu minggu, dia bekerja 5 hari, maka $ 40 x 5 = 200 dollars. 8 minggu >> 200 x 8 = 1600 dollars. 10) Maka jawabannya adalah 3 x 6 + 4 = 22.

Level C (Soal Tingkat Lanjut)

Dalam soal level C ini, siswa harus melakukan operasi hitung campuran, baik itu perkalian dengan pengurangan atau perkalian dan penjumlahan. 

1. Uncle Lee usually eats three meals a day. They are for breakfast, lunch and dinner. a) How many meals does he eat in a normal week? b) One day, Uncle Lee got 4 meals on Sundays and Thursday for a week. How many meals did he get that week?
2. Debra has 2 bags with 2 marbles in each bag. Johnny  has 4 bags with 3 marbles in each bag. How many more marbles does Markus have?
